We were recently commissioned to strengthen Sheridan's brand vision in their recently opened retail outlet in Surry Hills — introducing beauty into the everyday things through thoughtful lighting application.
Sheridan, founded in 1967, is distinguished by their quality craftmanship and textile artistry. The brand is known for their exceptional home and lifestyle products and paved the way for Australian textile and creative industries. Every Sheridan product is crafted beautifully and made to last, using the finest raw materials in the industry and only selecting from a variety of high performing fibres to ensure quality and aesthetics are uncompromised.
We were commissioned to strengthen the brand's vision, introducing beauty into the everyday things through thoughtful lighting application in their recently opened retail outlet in Surry Hills. Constructed in 1920s, the 500 sqm outlet site is exposed to plenty of foot traffic on Foveaux Street, and easily accessible by public transport, only 200 metres from the Central station.
Preserving the original state of the interior fabric
As the location is heritage-listed property, this presented a lot of lighting design challenges in the design development stage. Wherever possible, a focus on preserving the original state of the interior fabric has been maintained, staying true to the heritage bones of the building.
The store's interior palette was kept clean and minimal with an industrial edge. Exposed duct, services, and Victorian architectural details are completely revealed against the concrete ceiling. The all-white fit out has allowed Sheridan craftmanship to stand out and do the talking.
This was further enhanced by utilising our XTB track spots, focusing on high colour reproduction and bringing the visual merchandise to life. The lighting solution had undergone a series of computational and parametric design, refining design elements in the digital space to ensure every piece of work is appreciated and highlighted.
